My Week

September 25, 2003 · 2 minute read

The week has been hectic. My professors are piling on work; it seems they think I’m only taking their class. I have enough work to last the rest of the semester. Not including assignments yet to be given.

I ordered Microsoft Visual Studio.Net 2003 upgrade a week or so ago. It came on Wednesday, when I ordered it I thought Microsoft would send one CD which would upgrade the 2002 version. I couldn’t have been more mistaken, I got a box of goodies; it was like Christmas with all the stuff they sent me. Besides the new full edition of VS.Net 2003, I got namespace posters and new MSDN Library disks. But that’s not the best part; Microsoft sent me developer editions of all their server software, including Windows Server 2003. This was definitely the highlight of my week.

Today “the job fair” was at school. Business from all over California came to solicit their company. Ironically not many of them are hiring, it seemed they were there to maintain the relationship with the University rather than hiring. I went anyways, talked to some of the recruiters, one of them was Alumni. It was cool getting his insight, on what’s important to companies after graduation. SAP was giving out mini-staplers and if by the best thing I got from the fair. It came with blue staples and it even has a pouch on the bottom for extra staples.
