One of My Fears…
Crossroads Dispatches writes a post about Transparency or expressing yourself (a link via A Penny..). The power of what we think people are thinking of us is unnerving.
I have written some personal stuff lately. Every time I write something personal, I ask myself “Is this something I should really post?” “Will it ruin my creditability?” “Will a prospective employer view this and not hire me because I am perceived as weak?” I don’t want to be perceived as weak. Maybe I am weak for thinking this.
American society dictates the male gender shall show no emotions with the exception of anger. This does not mean males don’t have emotions, being male I can tell you it’s quite the opposite.
Ironically, it has been shown that those who express more emotion (typically the female gender) tend to be all around stronger people.
